Dear Live Simply for Orphans Family,
We just want to thank everyone for the love, prayers and support for over a decade now! Our Ministry may not be very glamorous or popular in the eyes of the world, we may not fit the traditional mold for Missionaries, but we truly do rescue the abandoned and forgotten. The mentally challenged & physically disabled are still treated as cursed or as a result of family sin here, many times abandoned, locked in rooms without value or purpose. We have become the voice for the mentally challenged & disabled in our orphanage and surrounding community, we are their advocate. We live to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have roots here, and more than anything, we have embraced this community for over 10 years loving the unloved!
Our special needs orphanage is a privately donor funded Christ centered home for 35 abandoned kids with multiple, severe disabilities. This home only receives kids with no family in total abandonment. All are mentally challenged with many severe cases. We share life with 8 wheel chair bound kids, 2 with walkers, 2 that crawl, 5 blind kids, 2 quadriplegics, 2 with microcephaly and 8 severely mentally challenged. Twenty nine of our children have no ability to communicate. We have a school for our kids and the surrounding special needs/disabled community at the orphanage. We have a Deaf Center Class as well, any given school day we have about 70 special needs and disabled kids being loved! We share daily life with the least of these…..
Live Simply for Orphans has our feeding program now serving 76 disabled/special needs families with monthly food rations in vulnerable areas. We hand deliver to each home allowing us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. During each visit, we complete an assessment of the living conditions, medical needs, spiritual needs and goals we have targeted for each family. We access the needs monthly along with medical care and local church support/attendance.
Since 2019, we have organized and funded three Free Dental Clinics each year exclusively for our Special Needs/ Disabled Families in our community/city dump/local church with 60 families participating.
Since 2019, we have partnered with MMI Peru (Medical Ministry International) providing a two week Eye Clinic and Eye Surgery for our Special Needs/ Disabled and vulnerable families.
Since 2019, we partner with Wheels for the World Clinics with Joni & Friends every April and October providing life-changing mobility along with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have distributed over 700 wheelchairs and the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
