President Vizcarra officially put the entire country under a 15 day mandatory quarantine & deployed military personnel on the streets, masked military personnel blocked major roads, while police restricted the movement of people in a controlled and safe manner. We have mandatory curfew 8pm to 5am. We can leave our homes only for essential needs like food, banking, healthcare, etc. All schools are closed, churches, public meeting places, restaurants and parks. No taxis and no personal vehicle use during this quarantine. There is no international travel in or out of the country for the next 15 days & boarders are locked down. Our return flight to the USA has been cancelled. Many of our families in areas of extreme poverty are feeling the effects of the daily rains, flooding and now food shortages. We are safe yet anxious.
